FAQs (General public)
Can I buy local flowers in the winter?
The production of winter flowers is increasing rapidly across Quebec. By Valentine’s Day 2024, some growers were already selling tulips. However, most locally grown flowers are only available from April to October, when growing conditions are more favourable.
Can I buy local roses?
While it is possible to grow roses in Quebec, either in fields or in greenhouses, strong competition with imported roses means that local production is very limited at the moment.
FAQs (Members)
Do I need to be registered with the Quebec department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ) and have an identification number (NIM) to join the association?
Not at all! We welcome any individual or business involved in growing and selling flowers in Quebec.
Must each partner, shareholder, or associate in a company pay an individual membership fee? For instance, if my business is a general partnership (G.P.) with three associates, do we have to pay three membership fees?
No. Membership fees are per company or floral farm, regardless of the number of associates.
Is there a specific date to become a member of the association?
No. Membership is available continuously throughout the year. It is valid for one year from the date of registration.
Do I need to provide proof if I’m a start-up company? (0-3 years)
No. We trust you. We hope that, by the time you begin your fourth growing season, you will be honest and pay the correct fee.
As a member, will I get my money’s worth?
